Realities For Children Charities Shines Light on the Darkness of Child Abuse
The members of Realities For Children and nearly 1,500 community members bundled up to enjoy the 12th Annual NightLights' celebration on Tuesday, December 1st! We are proud to share that over $75,000 has been raised from this year's fundraising campaign!
This FREE community tree lighting ceremony featured the lighting of the one-of-a-kind, 50 foot tall NightLights Tree - showcasing 25,000 LED lights illuminated, by donors, to light up the night and help reach further into the darkness of child abuse. Over 1,400 children benefited in December of 2009, and seventeen youth agencies will be served in the New Year.
Sponsored by: OtterBox, North Fort Collins Business Association, Capital West National Bank, Heath Construction and Comcast, we thank all sponsors, donors, champions, businesses, families and individuals that came together to brighten the lives of our community's children by giving a Night Light.
Hosted in the front lawn of First Presbyterian Church, 531 South College Avenue in Fort Collins, attendees had the opportunity to listen to live musical performances by youth performers, including: "The Band", "mcemfia", Delany Garcia, Riley Lamperes, Cheri Lamperes and the Bennett Pride Choir.
Guests warmed-up with hot Qdoba Mexican Grill soup, snacked on holiday treats, drank warm cider, hot cocoa and registered to win the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory 33 pound chocolate Santa, Many Colors Paint paint job certificate and the Hilton Fort Collins one night stay.
NightLights' attendees also had the chance to visit with all seventeen RFC Affiliate Agencies and learn more about their programs and services.
We sincerely thank everyone that helped to take a child out of the darkness of abuse this past holiday season. We wish you all a very happy New Year and hope to see you at NightLights in 2010.
Checks can be made payable to Realities For Children Charities.
